Over the weekend my crew and I have just upgraded the profile creation and editing wizard to allow you guys to upload your word documents and even pdfs.

Supported file types: (.doc, .docx, .pdf, .jpg, .gif, .png)

If you need to upload a special document or image that is not listed above please feel free to contact us and we will be more than happy to help out.

Ladies and Gents,
we the geeks behind OnlySport are proud to announce that as of Tuesday the 12th of August 2008 you are now able to contact profile owners through OnlySport.

Here's how it works: When a person creates/edits their profile they have the ability to add contact details. Depending on the contact details they provide you their loyal follower will be able to ring them or even email them (All email addresses remain hidden so those nasty spam bots cannot find them).

For an example of how it works please click on the following link and scroll until you find the section "My Contact Details": Player Profile (Michael Kerr).

Ladies and Gents, at the beginning of this month our new look went live!! We have taken on board your opinions and requests and we have done our best to implement each and every one of them. One of our biggest improvements has been the implementation of our new mapping solution. We have some neat ideas on how to make this even more interactive and useful for you guys, so keep an eye on it. So take a look around and don't forget to keep your comments and suggestions coming and together we will keep building onlysport.co.nz until it is the greatest sports community on the web.

We have taken your guys comments and requests and are currently putting the final touches on a brand spanking new website design. So as the title says "Watch this space!".. Along side the launch of the new design we are going to run a few compititions which we hope will become a regular feature :) So, if you have any suggestions or have found any problems with the site send them through to Mike (via our contact us page) as soon as possible and we will do our best to get them sorted for the new release (launch date pending)

Recently a massive milestone was met, you guys have uploaded over 400 profiles that are live 24/7. While there is still such a long way to go, it is great to see you guys getting behind OnlySport and indeed NZ Sport in general. Because when you post your profiles on OnlySport you are spreading the word about your Sport/Team/Club and even yourself!. Before long, OnlySport will become NZ's greatest online sporting community serving information about all sorts of Sports and Events and even shedding light on the little known sports in NZ. So come on NZ spread the word, and help us build the #1 online sports resource in NZ and eventually the world!

OnlySport welcomes its largest sports group to date, New Zealand Golf, making up a massive 175 profiles on our list! For those of you that have been keeping watch over the last few months, you would have seen OnlySport.co.nz grow.. And quite well too! This update, once again, is no exception. As the title suggests, we now have more than 300 permanent profiles! As well as a small number of events that are quite likely to be near you right now! This increase of 100 profiles took just on 21 days.. Pretty impressive! Thats almost 5 profiles per day we are growing by! But don't forget, New Zealand sport isn't just about golf! With your help out there, OnlySport.co.nz will become THE place to be to find out about your favourite sport! If we don't have your favourite sport listed, them let us know and we will try to fix that for you!

For those of you that have been keeping watch over the last 2 months, you would have seen OnlySport.co.nz grow in leaps and bounds! This update is no exception. As the title suggests, we now have more than 200 permanent profiles! As well as a small number of events that are quite likely to be near you right now! For those of you that do not know, a permanent profile is a club, organisation, player or team profile that doesn't really have a time limit. This is different to an event which starts and finishes on a particular date, meaning they dissapear off OnlySport.co.nz when they're past their date. We would like to thank those of you that have been adding your own profiles to the site, and helping keep our event database full! Don't forget, with your help out there, OnlySport.co.nz will become THE place to be to find out about your local sport!

Early this morning, Jono managed to load on the 100th sporting profile! Completing our third milestone in one month. This growth is very fast compared to our first 50 profiles! Next step, 150 profiles! Our second milestone was to have a high profile company join our site, this was accomplished 14 days ago. A very big hello and thank you to our friends at Mizone for being the first advertiser to join our site. DON'T FORGET! Word of mouth is our strongest ally at the moment, so tell everyone you can about us. The more people know about us, the more interesting and fun the site will become!

At 8.00am this morning, Jono loaded on the 50th and even the 51st sporting profile! Hopefully seeing the numbers grow will help entice many more people to respond and start using the site for their local sporting needs! DON'T FORGET! The next milestone is the 100th profile online. Another is the 50th profile added by everyone who is outside of OnlySport staff! Keep an eye out for us around the upper and central north island, as we will start showing up at the games that get posted here on OnlySport. Hopefully soon, with the help of a few advertisers on our site, we will start to be able to give a little something back to the New Zealand sporting community! Keep an eye out for us! The rack that our server is on suffered from a technical glitch today, and the people at our hosting company were quick to get it fixed! Meaning downtime was a mere 30 minutes this time. We apologise if you tried to reach the site during this time, and we hope that these issues are kept to a minimum. Hopefully sometime soon we can organise ourselves a dedicated server for a good price!

Beautiful weather, an amazing atmosphere, an all over great day. After a fair bit of soul searching (his words) Mike took part in this years Round the Bays 8.4km fun run. Mikes' time was a sluggish 50 minutes and 59 seconds, but good on you for trying, and better luck next year! A call to all you sports loving kiwis that took part in the fun run or know of anyone that did, please tell us your times.. did you manage to beat Mike? or did you walk with your friends? either way let us know!

A full and hearty welcome to Jono. A talented football player, a keen runner, and now our newest OnlySport team member. Jono has already been working hard trying to get in contact with as many people as he can in the sporting community! Some of you may have already been in communications with him. He is doing an outstanding job! Welcome!

Some of you may have noticed we were down last week. OnlySport.co.nz is now back online, and hopefully on a more stable connection after having its connection pulled the other day. Our old internet provider has had the plug pulled on their servers when, well, I don't quite know what happened.. But it left OnlySport.co.nz without a home from Thursday the 1st March till today Sunday the 4th March 2007. We are currently running on a shared server at the moment, while looking for a better situation.. The current hosting is temporary and we will hopefully be back up on a dedicated server shortly! We apologise if you notice anything strange with the new setup, or if the server seems a little slower than normal, after all we are now on a shared service.. Other than that, I hope you continue to enjoy the comfortable surroundings and peaceful browsing conditions that we have always had! One short note, when we change back to a dedicated server, we hope that you do not notice anything except the speed of OnlySport.co.nz to increase! The next change we will be able to plan for!

OnlySport now has support for events to be placed on the site, telling everyone that your game, race, or whatever it may be is happening on that day! If you need help, please use the Contact Us link at the bottom of every page. We are more than willing to help! Events are a major part of this site, as that is what the public want to know about. Have you ever sat at home thinking "I want to go watch a football game, but I dont know where to look for one"? That is what OnlySport events are all about!

OnlySport is in much need of advertising, in any way possible! We need the public to know about us and what we are trying to do! At this early stage the most important is the clubs and teams, if you know of anyone involved in ANY sporting club or team, then please mention OnlySport to them and get them to register their club. The more we have on this site, the more you will be able to know whats going on! If you think you have some spare funds to donate which we can spend on advertising this free service then please contact OnlySport directly using the Contact Us link at the bottom of every page. Anything can and will help spread the word.

It has been a long time coming, but OnlySport is now getting the attention it deserves. Development on OnlySport was put on hold in early April this year due to another project taking up all of our time. Now, in November, OnlySport is getting some much needed improvement to start supporting our local communities. Keep an eye out, as we are growing by the day! You should start to see the site fill with information on clubs near you!

You can now create your own news items for your fans to read! Tell them about recent victories, up and coming competitions, game cancellations or anything else you feel like saying! These news items are only for your profile, so they wont show up anywhere else. A good news item to post would be any game cancellations, because your fans will not be happy if they turn up early saturday morning in the pouring rain to find your not playing today.

Add photos of your team, team logos, photos of recent competitions, whatever you want! Just make sure you have permission from the people that are in the photo. For people that dont have their own profiles, dont forget to check out what other people have to show! Dont forget - it is a family show, so keep it real and all will be well.

Register yourself and you will be kept up to date with how the site is progressing and whos coming online! Tell your mates about it too! Cause the more people we have, the more fun it will be! After many days of hard work, OnlySport is now actually coming through the dark cloud of development. The idea started over a year ago as a small project idea to help budding sportspeople find out whats around them. Since then it has grown in leaps and bounds, all types of functionality has been designed to make this site top of its class, and will be implemented over the coming months. Our representatives will slowly start attending sporting events and running all kinds of activities, we look forward to seeing you around.
