Invercargill, in the south of the South Island of New Zealand is home to the Invercargill Rowing Club. It is located on the banks of the Oreti River, just 8km from the town centre.
Though tidal, the Oreti River provides an eight lane, 2000 metre rowing course, and over 35km of continuous training waters.
The Club caters for a membership across the classes, which includes Novices, Juniors, Seniors, Masters, Special Olympic and Recreational Rowers.
Club House facilities feature a gym with up-to-date rowing machines and weights, showers and an extensive boat fleet with top class rowing skiffs and coaching boats.
Invercargill Club is home to World Junior Silver Medallist Nathan Cohen, and National Title holders in Senior Men's.
Masters are also serious contenders at National and World Masters Rowing Championships and currently hold titles.
Visitors are very welcome at the Club and to maximise your stay, prior arrangements can be put in place by e-mail to Dave Galbraith or Shirley Whitaker.
