Manawatu Badminton Association Organisation Profile

The Manawatu Badminton Association (MBA) has been around since the 1950's. The B & M center (formally Arena 4) is the current home for the MBA with summer league, interclub and other junior tournaments being held here.

We currently have 6 clubs in the region that cater for both junior badminton and senior badminton players.


Manawatu is the home of the largest badminton tournament in Australasia, with the North Islands being held every year in Palmerston North. Every year over 400 players from around the country travel to Palmerston North to compete in the teams and individual events. Manawatu is proud to be the host to this prestigious event every year.
