Description
Diving New Zealand is New Zealand’s national springboard and platform diving organisation. Diving New Zealand is affiliated to Aquatics New Zealand along with Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo, Swimming and Masters Swimming. Aquatics New Zealand is the member to the international body FINA (Federation Internationale de Natation). Diving New Zealand has affiliated members from diving clubs throughout New Zealand.
Historically diving was part of The New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association until in the late 1980’s the New Zealand Diving Authority was formed. This became Diving New Zealand in 1995.
Over the years divers have represented New Zealand at Olympics, Commonwealth Games, World Championships, World Cups, Grand Prixs, World Junior Championships and Australian Summer and Winter Nationals. New Zealand teams have competed overseas achieving excellent results including Australian titles, World Junior titles and top ten placings at the Commonwealth Games.
