Description
The Auckland Association had a very successful national champs in 2006, with 4 of the grades winning the gold medals and the Peewees coming close and taking the silver. The association hosted the national champs at Botany and Avondale and in a repeat of the last time the event was held here we won 4 of the 5 golds on offer.
The Peewees, Midgets and Juniors played their respective tournaments against the Canterbury and Southern regions on the last weekend in August, and the Senior Non-Checking and Women's competitions were held the following weekend.
While all the Auckland teams were well prepared and showed what they could do in competition, a special mention should be made of the Junior team, who were so far ahead of their competitors that their closest winning margin was 6 goals!
